MinKNOW™ is the software that controls Oxford Nanopore sequencing devices, i.e. MinION, GridION, and PromethION.

MinKNOW™ performs several core tasks, including data acquisition, real-time analysis, feedback, basecalling, data streaming, controlling the device, and ensuring that the platform chemistry is performing correctly for sequencing.

Through the integration of the basecalling software, MinKNOW™ can perform basecalling and barcode demultiplexing during sequencing and through post-run analysis.
