Single-Cell Omics for Transcriptome CHaracterization (SCOTCH): isoform-level characterisation of gene expression through long-read single-cell RNA sequencing

As Oxford Nanopore’s technology develops, there is a need for bioinformatic tools to adapt to maximise the data. In light of this, the authors developed a pipeline tailored to long-read, single-cell RNA sequencing analysis, based on an R10 nanopore sequencing benchmarking dataset. This toolkit excelled at identifying transcript usage differences and isoform switching events, holding promise to enhance our understanding of genome regulation.
