The SG-NEx project: a resource for long-read nanopore RNA sequencing in 5 human cancer cell lines

  • Published on: July 17 2020

Team generated reference dataset for anyone to use, containing data for replicates of PCR-cDNA, direct cDNA, direct RNA, and short-read RNA across 5 cancer cell lines. Over 36 million reads per sample, available here: https://github.com/GoekeLab/sg-nex-data

YC: “the more complex the isoform expression, the more important long reads become” – isoform switching occurs frequently across cancer cell lines and needs full-length transcripts to identify.

Project has found over 8000 novel transcripts which are either novel isoforms or novel genes - download the data yourself to investigate.
