Michael is co-head of science at Genomics plc and Professor of Genetics at King’s College London. His work focusses on the application of contemporary genomic technologies to detect genetic variation and evaluate its role in human disease. He was one of the pioneers of the application of exome sequencing in rare diseases, contributing to the discovery of over 40 new genes that are the site of mutation in a range of clinical phenotypes. At Genomics plc Michael leads the development of tools and analytical approaches for the interrogation of individual genomes.
