Biography

Rhydian Windsor is a machine learning research scientist at Oxford Nanopore Technologies. His primary focus is improving models for secondary analysis tasks (e.g. variant calling and consensus). Before joining Oxford Nanopore in 2023, Rhydian completed a DPhil at the University of Oxford in the Visual Geometry Group, using modern techniques from the fields of computer vision and machine learning to improve medical image and text analysis.

Abstract

We will present the latest updates on deep-learning models for assembly polishing, plus an introduction and initial results for our new small variant caller, now available in Dorado.
