Oxford Nanopore sequencing now available as a service: first two providers achieve certification

The pocket size MinION sequencer is intended to be a personal or lab sequencer for any researcher, and is not available for service provision. The GridION and PromethION can, however, be used by service providers to offer nanopore sequencing services to their clients. To do so, they must complete a certification process.

This week, two service providers achieved certification and are now starting to offer nanopore sequencing as a service.

Baseclear, in the Netherlands, was the first to certify, with the Kinghorn Centre for Clinical Genomics (KCCG) at the Garvan Institute in Australia following soon after.  You can read the announcement from the Kinghorn Centre here.

You can visit our service provider web page to find the provider best for you as more providers come online around the world.
