Rabbit blood gDNA
FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY
These protocols describe methods for DNA extraction from rabbit blood (collected in K2-EDTA), as an example of mammalian blood. We recommended the QIAGEN Puregene Blood Kit as this generated high sequencing output and long read lengths. The QIAGEN Genomic-tip delivered a similar performance, with slightly shorter read lengths, and is suitable for larger input volumes. For users seeking a fast workflow, we obtained high sequencing throughput with the QIAamp DNA Blood Midi extraction, although much shorter read lengths were observed. We also recommend the use of SPRI size selection prior to sequencing. The sequencing performance was assessed using the Ligation Sequencing Kit.
Please see below a comparison of sequencing read lengths and general overview for the three protocols. Click on the panel of your choice to view the protocol.
