HES-SO Valais-Wallis Molecular Biology Lab
The Molecular Biology Laboratory is part of the Institute of Life Sciences at the Swiss University of Applied Sciences (Western Switzerland) and has been an Oxford Nanopore Service Provider since 2022. We run MinION / GridION / PromethION devices and support projects from single samples to larger studies.
Our wet-lab services cover consultation on experimental design, nucleic acid extraction, QC (Qubit, TapeStation, fragment sizing), size selection, and library preparation for genomic DNA, amplicons, cDNA, and direct RNA. Applications include de novo assembly, structural variant detection, native methylation calling, full-length transcriptomics, targeted and adaptive sampling, and microbial or metagenomic profiling.
On the data side we deliver basecalled reads plus tailored downstream analysis (e.g. assembly, polishing, variant calling, differential expression, or taxonomic classification) using reproducible pipelines, with results returned as annotated reports and raw data.
Typical turnaround is 2-3 weeks. Contact Dr. Sarah Wegmüller to discuss your project.
