- Biography
James Brayer is a member of the Business Development team at Oxford Nanopore focusing on the company’s Developers and Compatible Products Program. James joined Oxford Nanopore Technologies in July 2012 and has brought a passion for working with customers to help with their research and achieve success. James has held research roles at the Forsyth Dental Institute and Massachusetts General Hospital, and commercial roles at Affymetrix, Helicos BioSciences, and RainDance Technologies before joining Oxford Nanopore. During this time, James held commercial roles as a field scientist, product management, market development, and segment marketing. In his current role within Business Development, James is responsible for developing and closing opportunities within the company’s Developers and Compatible Products Program.
James had the opportunity to work closely with the team at NASA that performed the first nanopore sequencing on a Mk1B sequencer in a low Earth orbit on the International Space Station. You should ask him about the work NASA has planned to utilize nanopore sequencing in space.
