Festival of Genomics and Biodata, Boston (FOG Boston) 2025
Converging the genomics, other omics and biodata ecosystems under one roof, FOG Boston takes pharma/biotech, research and healthcare influencers on a journey towards the latest solutions that are transforming healthcare and medicine.
Oxford Nanopore are sponsoring, exhibiting and presenting at this event. Please stop by booth #45 if you are attending.
Innovation Stage talk
Date: Tuesday, June 24
Time: 2:50 pm-3:20 pm
Location: Innovation Stage
Talk Title: Epigenomic and fragmentomic analysis of cell-free DNA in cancer with Oxford Nanopore sequencing
Speaker: Billy Lau, Stanford University
In this talk, Billy will discuss how:
Short cell-free DNA fragments can be sequenced at scale with nanopore sequencing.
Direct single molecule measurement of cfDNA methylation enables a promising biomarker modality for cancer detection and patient monitoring
Direct sizing of cfDNA shows significant size differences between healthy donors and those with cancer
**Please note, space is limited for the event so do register ahead of time. **
Speakers
Mia Rapoza, Oxford Nanopore Technologies
Billy Lau, Stanford University School of MedicineDr. Billy Lau is an Instructor in the Division of Oncology at Stanford University School of Medicine. His research focus is on leveraging genome technology for cancer detection, and for studying human genomic variation. Dr. Lau received his doctorate from Harvard University in Engineering Sciences, and completed his post-doctoral training with Dr. Hanlee Ji at Stanford University. He has also received the NHGRI’s Genomic Innovator Award, where he focuses on building tools to maximize information from single molecules and cells.
