LamPORE for SARS-CoV-2 detection: the science behind the new assay
LamPORE is a new assay, in advanced development at Oxford Nanopore. It is designed to detect the presence of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19, in a saliva, swab or environmental samples. LamPORE is the first assay developed by Oxford Nanopore with the intention of future diagnostic use.
An additional version of LamPORE is in development for the detection of multiple respiratory viruses (including SARS-CoV-2), in preparation for the winter flu season.
