You can connect to a sequencer (MinION Mk1B/MinION MK1C/GridION/PromethION) using a remote computer on the same local area network via the Connection Manager feature in MinKNOW.

Instructions for connecting are found in the Connection Manager section of the MinKNOW protocol. Instructions for disabling this feature are found in the Device Security Settings section of the MinKNOW protocol.

Network requirements:

• Both remote machine and sequencer are connected to the same LAN either directly or via VPN
• Both the remote machine and sequencer are running the same version release of MinKNOW
• That ports 8000 -> 8100, 9502, 9505, and 9800 are open
