For devices without integrated compute (MinION Mk1D or PromethION 2 Solo) you can download the latest version of the software here.

For devices with integrated compute, such as the GridION, PromethION 24/48 and P2 integrated, you can update via the command-line or through the GUI within MinKNOW.

To update via MinKNOW, navigate to Host settings, then select Software. Here you will see buttons to update the software, if available. There are three update paths in the interface:

• Update Everything: MinKNOW, operating system packages, and security updates.
• Update MinKNOW Only: For those wanting just software features and bug fixes.
• Update System Only: Ideal for keeping system and security packages up-to-date independently.

You must power-cycle your device following the update for all processes to complete successfully. A reboot is not sufficient and the device must be fully powered off.
