Do I need to use a light shield on my MinION?
MinION Mk1B, Mk1D and Mk1C devices have opaque lids that should be closed during sequencing. Whilst these lids do block light we still recommend using the light shield, which enables the user to open the lid for washing and reloading of the flow cell.
