Oxford Nanopore’s library preparation kits are compatible across all sequencing devices; the PromethION does not require its own unique preps. (Apart from the final loading volume, the protocols used for prepping PromethION samples are identical to MinION protocols).

Furthermore, PromethION flow cells require the exact same input amount as MinION flow cells, giving you about 5X data output without the need to extract additional sample.
