In order to connect a MinION Mk1B to a laptop/desktop that only has a USB-C receptacle, you will need to purchase a USB-A (female) to USB-C (male) adapter that supports USB superspeed (5 Gbps) or faster.
Compatibility with your own compute is not guaranteed.
