Chao Chun Liu is a PhD candidate at the Simon Fraser University supervised by Dr. William Hsiao. His research interests lie in the application of advanced computational methods, including machine learning and graph structures to characterize the molecular evolution of bacterial pathogens. He concurrently works as a bioinformatics consultant for Prairie Diagnostic Services Inc. to advance the data analytics infrastructure required to support the application of nanopore sequencing technologies for monitoring animal health and the emergence of infectious diseases in real time.
