Profiling age and body fluid DNA methylation markers

DNA methylation plays a key role in physiological processes including regulating gene expression and is a widely used biomarker for age prediction and the identification of body fluids. Traditionally, methylation detection relies on independent targeting of CpG sites as part of a multiplexed assay, which requires a complex, multistep workflow.

During this webinar, our expert speaker presented a new approach – using nanopore adaptive sampling for comprehensive methylation profiling.

They illustrated how nanopore adaptive sampling successfully corroborated known CpG markers for age and body fluids and identified potential new age-related methylation sites, outlining its potential in forensics and the clinic.

Watch this webinar to:

  • Gain insights into how nanopore adaptive sampling is used to simultaneously detect age and body fluid-specific DNA methylation markers
  • Learn how the shift from experimental to computational strategies provides a more comprehensive methylation analysis
  • Hear how nanopore adaptive sampling addresses the challenges of methylation detection.
