We aimed to:
a) develop PCR-tiled sequencing approach for field-based whole-genome sequencing of dsDNA viral fish pathogens (adapting the ARTIC-Network protocol) to improve understanding of transmission and variant evolution.
b) adapt this protocol for field-based real-time surveillance.
