Oxford Nanopore Technologies celebrates launch of Indonesian Biomedical and Genomic Science Initiative with Indonesian Ministry of Health


Oxford Nanopore Technologies today participated in a signing ceremony with Bu Rizka, Director General of Pharmaceutical and Medical Devices, representing the Minister of Health for Indonesia, and Owen Jenkins, British Ambassador to Indonesia and Timor-Leste, made opening remarks

Oxford Nanopore Technologies will collaborate to support the newly launched Indonesian Biomedical and Genomic Science Initiative (BGSi). This initiative aims to promote the use of genomics information as an integral part of Indonesian health services and supports the Indonesian Ministry of Health’s transformation agenda in biomedical innovation and public health.

The parties intend to collaborate to deliver sophisticated genomics approaches to improve the lives of Indonesians, across human genetics, pathogen surveillance and infectious disease, as well as expanding access to diverse datasets which could accelerate new discoveries globally.

Budi Gunadi Sadikin, CHFC, CLU and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment HE Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan.
