The American Society for Histocompatibility and Immunogenetics is an international society of professionals dedicated to advancing the science, education and application of immunogenetics and transplant immunology. The ASHI Annual Meeting will run from October 16-20, 2023 at the San Antonio Marriott Rivercenter in San Antonio, Texas.

Deciphering immunogenetics with Oxford Nanopore Technologies
Oxford Nanopore DNA/RNA sequencing technology is unique in enabling direct, single-molecule sensing. This ability to read native DNA and RNA, including epigenetic modifications, is truly disrupting translational research by revealing all the biological information that nucleic acids hold. Our ASHI user group will showcase the innovative uses of robust nanopore sequencing technology in the field of immunogenetics research. In this session — for clinical researchers, immunologists, biomarker discovery scientists, collaborators, and potential partners — we will highlight the use cases of nanopore sequencing for new approaches to HLA typing and histocompatibility research.
