How do I store my flow cells?

How do I store my flow cells?

All flow cells should be stored at 2-8°C from receipt until use. Flow cells should not be frozen at any point.

Flow cells get irreversibly damaged when frozen.

Upon receipt, please visually inspect the packaging without opening the pouch and report any issues within 2 days of delivery. Keep the flow cells in their unopened packaging until you are ready to use them.

MinION/GridION and PromethION Flow Cells should be used and returned within 12 weeks as per our Terms and Conditions. Information regarding the returns process can be found here. Flongle Flow Cells do not need to be returned.

When you open your flow cell packaging, if it looks like there is liquid condensation inside the packaging, this is purely a cosmetic issue and does not affect flow cell performance. Our packaging contains moisture control technology that ensures the flow cells are environmentally controlled during shipping and storage. Allow the flow cells to come to room temperature for 30 minutes before they are used.

Please remember to run a flow cell check on the flow cells before you use them and report any issues within 2 days of the QC.
