Biography

Jayne Wallace is Vice President of Nanopore Research and Protein Sequencing at Oxford Nanopore Technologies, where she leads multidisciplinary teams of experimental and computational scientists. Her work focuses on advancing nanopore technology for protein sensing and sequencing, as well as discovering and engineering novel nanopores to enhance DNA, RNA, and protein sequencing performance.

Jayne brings extensive experience from both industry and academia, previously holding a postdoctoral research role at the University of Oxford, specialising in biomolecular simulation. She maintains strong links with the wider biophysics community, including serving on the management committee of the British Biophysical Society. Her leadership bridges the gap between theoretical insights and practical applications, significantly advancing the capability of Oxford Nanopore sequencing in multiomics research.

In recognition of her contributions, Jayne received the Suffrage Science award in Engineering and Physical Sciences from the University of Oxford in 2025. She holds a PhD in Computational Biology and a degree in Physics, both from the University of Leeds. Jayne remains deeply committed to fostering innovation and mentoring the next generation of scientists within the biophysical and nanopore research communities.
