Genopo: a nanopore sequencing analysis toolkit for portable Android devices

During pandemics like COVID-19, tracking the mutations helps to trace the roots of the virus within countries and globally. Hence, the viral genomes from all over the world should be sequenced and shared publicly as much as possible. Genopo is an Android application providing a portable, low-cost solution taking away the burden associated with DNA sequence analysis. Genopo was used to determine the complete genome sequence of the human coronavirus in nine patient isolates sequenced on a nanopore sequencer, with Genopo executing this workflow in less than 30 minutes per sample on a range of low-cost smartphones.
