- Biography
Dr. Lorey Smith is a Mid-Career Victorian Cancer Agency Research Fellow in Professor Grant McArthur’s lab at the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre in Melbourne, Australia. Lorey has expertise in genome-wide functional genomics screens, transcriptomics, and poly-ribosome profiling. She uses these technologies to understand the role of RNA processing in melanoma progression and response to therapy. Her research is supported by multiple national (VCA, NHMRC) and international (US Department of Defense) funding agencies. Lorey is also passionate about achieving equity and diversity within the scientific process, and advocates for gender equity through multiple platforms.
