Rapid, multiomic tumour methylation profiling using Oxford Nanopore sequencing

  • Published on:
Oxford Nanopore Technologies application note document on rapid multiomic tumour methylation profiling using nanopore sequencing.

Genomic and epigenomic alterations are characteristic of many cancers and can influence tumour development and progression. Comprehensive molecular profiling of all these features, including DNA methylation, can provide a more complete characterisation of tumour biology. The Oxford Nanopore tumour methylation profiling solutions enable direct methylation analysis and genomic variant detection from native DNA in a single sequencing workflow.

In this application note, we evaluate three tumour methylation profiling protocols: a multiplex, low-pass whole-genome sequencing protocol for scalable methylation classification and copy number variant analysis, and two singleplex Adaptive Sampling protocols that enrich 723 cancer-associated genes while retaining low-pass whole-genome sequencing coverage. Here, we highlight that the tumour methylation profiling solutions provide flexible options for comprehensive tumour profiling in a single workflow

In this application note, you will:

  • Learn the importance of capturing genomic variants and genome-wide methylation in a single run

  • Discover how Adaptive Sampling combined with direct methylation sequencing has the potential to provide a transformative alternative to traditional sequencing approaches

  • View our benchmarking data generated using the ready-to-use Pan-Cancer Panel, powered by Adaptive Sampling
