Francis Van Parys joined Oxford Nanopore Technologies as Chief Executive Officer in March 2026. He is an accomplished global life sciences executive with more than 20 years of leadership experience across diagnostics, bioprocessing, and research‑led technology businesses.
Prior to joining Oxford Nanopore, Francis served as President and CEO of Radiometer, a global leader in acute care diagnostics within Danaher Corporation. He has also held senior leadership roles at Cytiva and GE Healthcare, where he led large multinational teams and major business portfolios across Europe, Asia, and North America.
Throughout his career, Francis has built a strong track record of scaling complex scientific platforms into substantial, operationally disciplined, and commercially successful businesses. His leadership is characterised by strategic clarity, customer focus, and a commitment to high‑performance collaborative cultures.
Francis has served on several corporate and educational boards, including Etiometry Inc. and Ghent University Global Campus. He holds degrees in Materials Engineering from Ghent University and in Polymer Science & Technology from UMIST, and is fluent in Dutch, French, and English.
