About Matthew Keller

Dr. Matthew Keller is an ORISE postdoctoral fellow under the mentorship of Dr. John Barnes of the Influenza Genomics Team at the Virology, Surveillance, and Diagnosis Branch of the CDC’s Influenza Division. Dr. Keller received his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from the University of Georgia where he studied biofuel production in thermophiles and authored 10 publications. Dr. Keller joined the CDC in April of 2017 where he is currently investigating nanopore sequencing for the surveillance and study of influenza viruses.

Abstract
