We are looking for an experienced and highly motivated Sales professional, to join Oxford Nanopore as Strategic Account Manager/Associate- USA.
The Strategic Account Manager/Associate- USA will form a global team of experienced sales and market development professionals who will deliver on commercial targets and actively build awareness of Oxford Nanopore Technologies products in the territory. They will be responsible, along with the North American regional team and the Sales Director, for development and implementation of a strategic business plan for the territory.
Reporting to the Sales Director, the successful candidate will be confident in creating and maintaining excellent working relationships both internally and externally, whilst working toward exceptional account management. To achieve these goals, you will be required to undertake 50% travel.
This position will be required to work closely with the Customer Service and Technical Support teams and to liaise with the Strategic Account Managers and Market Development domain experts to best address the needs of each customer.
Previous experience in consultative Sales and Key Account management in a related field will be required.
Responsibilities of this role will include, but are not limited to:
- Identification of new opportunities within Territory
- Management of key customer relationships and opportunities across broad fields of research interest
- Understanding of funding cycles and decision-making process in Territory
- Delivering to the agreed commercial targets
- Adhere to best practices for tracking, recording and documenting commercial intelligence from customer interactions

The Strategic Account Manager/Associate will have excellent interpersonal skills, demonstrating strong organisational and problem-solving capability.
They will be self-motivated, with the communication skills to effectively engage with the customer and across multi-disciplinary teams within the Company.
The ideal candidate will have a background in genetics and genomics with knowledge of the Life Sciences and Genomics market and an understanding of current DNA sequencing technologies and their applications in order to effectively support new and existing customers.
