Sensor Chip Tech Transfer Scientist
Oxford Nanopore Technologies is developing and commercialising a new generation of nanopore-based electronic systems for analysis of single molecules, including DNA, RNA and proteins. The handheld MinION™ device and the high-throughput/high sample number PromethION™ systems are designed to provide novel qualities in molecular sensing such as real-time data streaming, improved simplicity, efficiency and scalability of workflows and direct analysis of the molecule of interest.
There is an opportunity for a highly motivated and proactive individual to join the production Tech Transfer Team as Sensor Chip Tech Transfer Scientist
This exciting opportunity will involve working within the production technology transfer team, and will be required to carry out manufacturing, functionalization, assembly, QC and analysis of our sensor chip products, with a focus on ensuring both baseline and novel designs and processes meet performance specifications (using Key Performance Indicators) prior to a full production release.
The candidate will work closely with the development and production teams to ensure rigorous and efficient transfer of best practice processes. It is expected that the candidate will also be able to contribute suggestions for process improvements.
Applicants must have experience and knowledge of working in a laboratory environment, and be comfortable with timely and accurate recording of process data to ensure that the quality of the components and product is maintained to the highest possible standard. The sensor chip scientist will also input data such that production based queries can be rapidly and accurately answered. Enjoyment of practical work, organisational skills, reliability and an enthusiastic attitude are paramount.
You will be working within a dynamic and highly interdisciplinary group of scientists, where excellent communication skills are essential.
