We are seeking a highly motivated Market Development Associate/Manager to join our global team of experienced sales & market development professionals, who will actively drive growth and awareness of ONT's products across research and applied markets.
The successful candidate will be responsible for driving forward the development of new and desirable areas of commercial interest in the research life sciences market. This role will work within the Market Development team and alongside the Inside Sales and field sales teams to ensure all market development and business opportunities are identified and to deliver to agreed commercial targets. This position will be supported by the broader Sales and Market Development teams, Customer Service, Technical Support and Applications teams. Frequent travel will be required to deliver role objectives.
- Identification of new market segment opportunities within Region (by Expertise Application or user profile)
- Management of customer and key opinion leader relationships within fields of research aligned with the strategic plan
- Active engagement in the promotion of the Oxford Nanopore systems and their use within the Territory
- Supporting the global teams to deliver upon agreed commercial targets for Oxford Nanopore systems
- Adhering to best practices for tracking, recording and documenting relevant commercial intelligence from all customer interactions
What We're Looking For...
We'll expect you to have a BSc degree preferably in the life sciences and ideally, you'll have a PhD in a relevant expertise area or MBA qualification. You'll have experience working with research/life science departments, and an existing relationship with key opinion leaders in Nanopore sequencing in a relevant research area or commercial industry plus you possess technical, commercial know-how relating to Nanopore sequencing and analysis to enable evaluation of potential new market segments based on end-user applications. Ideally, you have a proven track record as a field-based commercial professional and know your way around CRM systems.
You consider your communication skills to be one of your key strengths and are a strong organiser with excellent time management skills. You're also commercially aware with a proactive and creative approach to identifying challenges, risks and opportunities and able to work to a fixed budget.
Additionally, you have knowledge of the life sciences and genomics market, an understanding of the technology behind Oxford Nanopore Sequencing and how Oxford Nanopore systems can be applied in real-world terms in the research life sciences market to address biological problems.
This role will suit someone comfortable working under pressure with minimum supervision in a matrixed sales and service environment which is positive with a can-do attitude.
