Nanopore Account Specialist (Inside Sales)

Location: San Francisco

We are looking for a highly motivated Nanopore Account Specialist (Inside Sales) to run lead qualification and sales conversion activities for new and repeat business. The successful candidate will work alongside the Customer Service and Technical Support teams and liaise with the field-based sales teams to best address the needs of each customer and deliver exceptional account management support.

Reporting to the Associate Director, Global Inside Sales, the Account Specialist will be responsible for increasing product usage per user and accelerating lead conversion, as well as working to ensure the retention and progression of existing customers by actively building relationships and delivering up to date product information.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Managing incoming sales leads and nurturing to conversion
  • Delivering up-to-date technical product updates to new and existing customers
  • Actively implementing sales campaigns at the guidance of the marketing and communication teams
  • Adhering to best practices for tracking, recording and documenting relevant commercial intelligence
  • Providing office-based support to the field sales team in active territories

What We're Looking For...​

We'll expect you to have a BSc degree and/or Masters (preferably in Life Sciences, genetics and genomics) and ideally a PhD level qualification in Life Sciences or a relevant field. You'll have prior sales experience, preferably inside sales and have worked with research/life science customers and you know your way around CRM systems. In addition, you have an understanding of current DNA sequencing technologies and their applications, strong communication and influencing skills and knowledge of the Life Sciences and Genomics market.

You consider one of your key strengths to be your ability to build strong relationships with others, and you're someone who values teamwork. Ideally, you have experience of working in a global team, and you're comfortable in a fast-paced matrixed sales and service environment where you've implemented successful marketing and sales campaigns. You have a positive approach with a can-do attitude and like to use your initiative, yet you're able to exercise sound judgement and tact. You're also someone keen to join a disruptive, cutting-edge, high-tech organisation.
