We are looking for a highly motivated individual to join the Applications Team as an Applications Scientist to develop DNA and RNA extraction methods compatible with our disruptive sequencing devices, such as the MinION and PromethION. This exciting and challenging role involves developing and delivering protocols and information to our growing customer base.
The candidate will be engaged in an exciting area of a rapidly growing world-leading technology company. The role will involve testing and optimising DNA and RNA extraction on a variety of sample types for downstream analysis with Oxford Nanopore library preparation kits and subsequent DNA and RNA sequencing, for example, using the MinION. The candidate will become the authority on DNA and RNA extraction techniques for nanopore sequencing.
What We Are Looking For…..
The successful candidate will have experience with a wide variety of DNA and RNA extraction techniques and methods on a broad range of sample types (including, but not limited to plants, fungi and animals). The successful candidate will need to demonstrate: exemplary time and project management, have methodical problem-solving ability with an eye for detail, and they will have the communication skills to effectively influence and engage with key stakeholders.
The candidate will be in possession of a PhD in life sciences or equivalent, or will have several years of relevant industry experience.
